Wieczkowski, Kathleen (nee Matuszewski) - February 21, 2018 - After a brave six month battle with MDS/AML at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Beloved and understanding wife of Dr. Gerard Wieczkowski Jr.. Loving mother of Jeffrey A. (Michelle Marans), Neil and Dr. Julie (Lawrence Perkins) Wieczkowski. Cherished Grandma K of Sofia Rose and Joshua Richard Wieczkowski. Dear sister of Christine (Joseph) Lukowski, Francine (Richard) Hochulski and half sister of Michael and David Hark. Step-sister of Sherry Hark and the late William Hark and Mary Dojka. Aunt of Jolene (Gary) McIntyre and Lauren Lukowski. The family will receive friends at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 911 Englewood Ave. on Saturday from 4 to 8 PM and Sunday from 2 to 6 PM. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church (1085 Englewood Ave.) on Monday at 10:45 AM. Please assemble at Church. Kathleen was a 50 year member of the Marillac Guild, which is a volunteer group that ran the gift shop at Sisters of Charity Hospital. Also, Kathleen organized the purchase and distribution of all the Christmas Gifts for each patient at Sisters of Charity Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathleen's memory to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (www.roswellpark.org). Please share condolences at www.mertzfh.com
